We are thrilled to announce that Lab alum Elizabeth Irwin’s 2012/13 Lab play My Mañana Comes has been slated for production at The Playwright’s Realm. Elizabeth has also been named that company’s Page One playwright, and is a newly minted member of the Emerging Writers Group at The Public Theater.
Playbill.com writes the following:
“My Mañana Comes, by Page One Playwright Elizabeth Irwin, will begin performances Aug. 26 prior to an official opening Sept. 4 and continue through Sept. 20 at The Peter Jay Sharp Theater. Here’s how the production is billed: ‘Plates in, plates out, we need ice, table four needs bread, your tuna tartare is up: this is the life of the back of house at a restaurant. It’s not a bad way for four young New Yorkers to spend their days, make their livings, and cling to their dreams — that is, until management starts to get stingy. But you can count on your co-workers, right? Right? Right?'”
