Devising Workshop in conjunction with Winners and Losers
Sunday January 18th, 2015
Join the creators of Winners and Losers, Jamie Long and Marcus Youssef, as they run a very special workshop on devising for the theatre. Based upon their show Winners and Losers, participants will work with the guys to get a sense of how such a show is made. As in the past with all of the FEED workshops, these are completely free and open to all. Participants are encouraged to book separately for the production in advance of the workshop, or to book for that evening’s performance.
Here’s more about the workshop:
“Join Marcus and James in a series of exercises derived from their half-scripted, half-improvised competitive performance Winners and Losers. While it’s not essential, participants are encouraged to come with someone they feel they know well. (It’s all good if you come alone too – you’re guaranteed to make new friends in a whole new way.) In addition to Marcus and James’s interest in the relationship between improvised and scripted text, they also curious about the difference between using this game/device in the context of good friends (as they have), versus trying to play the game in the context of a first encounter. Bring a recording device (your iphone is just fine). Afternoon beer will be available – an essential part of the Winners and Losers formula!”
