WRITE WITH US
Sunday February 7, 2016 at 3pm
A musical should tell a story on stage with words and music. Beyond those basic requirements, any limitations for what a musical can and cannot be are up for debate. In this workshop we’ll look at the very primal question of how stories are embedded in music and lyrics, and we will start writing a whole truckload of musicals. No musical experience necessary!
César Alvarez wrote and starred in the musical Futurity which opened the 2015/2016 Soho Rep. season.
You’re invited to become a creator and collaborator at our home on Walker Street during WRITE WITH US, a festival of free workshops with writers who have recieved productions at Soho Rep. Each playwright will share their unique creative process with you, and beginners are welcome.
Classes are open to 60 participants. If sold out, digital waitlists will open on www.sohorep.org the week of WRITE WITH US.
All workshops are free.
