Soho Rep. Board member, and author of 2014’s An Octoroon, Branden has been awarded a 2016 MacArthur Genius Fellowship. The award is a major affirmation of Branden’s singular talent and body of work, and we couldn’t be happier for him.

“I thought I was having a psychotic breakdown,” Branden Jacobs-Jenkins told The New York Times when asked about his reaction to the phone call telling him had won the award.
