Downtown’s premiere program for new plays

Founded in 1998 by Laramie Dennis and Linsay Firman to explore and develop the work of a new generation of theater artists, the Lab fosters collaboration between early-career writers and directors in the beginning stages of the creative process. Each year, up to five writers and directors are paired to create a new play from scratch, culminating into a public reading series in the Spring. Readings are free and open to the public.

Applications for the 2012/2013 Writer/Director Lab are now closed.
